Gordon Paces HMS in First New Hampshire Practice

LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 13, 2002)—Jeff Gordon led all four Hendrick Motorsports teams in NASCAR Winston Cup Series pre-qualifying practice at New Hampshire International Speedway on Friday.
Driving the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet, Gordon ran a fast lap of 29.231 seconds and 130.300 mph, the 22nd-quickest time of the day.
Jimmie Johnson was 31st overall in the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevy, Joe Nemechek 32nd in the No. 25 UAW-Delphi Monte Carlo and Terry Labonte 33rd in the No. 5 Kellogg’s Chevrolet.
Ryan Newman paced the session with a 28.799-second time and a speed of 132.255 mph.
