Stars Tee Off at Hendrick Children’s Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 17, 2002)—On Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, the Hendrick Children’s Classic golf tournament will tee off for the eighth consecutive year, raising much-needed funds for the more than 60 boys and girls at Nazareth Children’s Home in Rockwell, N.C.

Founded in 1903, the Nazareth Children’s Home provides a stable Christian environment for children, ages five through 21, who have been severely abused, abandoned or neglected. John Hendrick, president of Hendrick Motorsports, currently serves on the home`s board of directors as chairman.

The tournament, in its eighth year at Sapona Country Club in Lexington, N.C., raised more than $140,000 in 2001 through donations and a live auction.
