DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2003) – Jimmie Johnson was quickest in Friday’s NASCAR Winston Cup Series practice at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, but his teammates weren’t far behind.

Former Winston Cup champions Terry Labonte and Jeff Gordon were seventh and 11th respectively, with Joe Nemechek 17th in the session.

Driving the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevy, Johnson blistered the track with a fast lap of 190.998 mph in the only Winston Cup practice of the day.
