CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 8, 2003) – Hendrick Motorsports and The Hendrick Marrow Program invite the public to the third annual marrow drive at Allen Tate Realtors’ university location in Charlotte.

On Saturday, May 10 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., volunteers willing to enter the National Marrow Donor Registry will be welcomed at 145 West W.T. Harris Boulevard.

There will be no charge thanks to the generosity of sponsors who have made donations to cover lab costs. The process involves a simple blood test and health questionnaire. Participants must be in good health and between 18 and 60 years of age.

Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be on-hand.

Each year, more than 30,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with life-threatening blood-related diseases. Many can be cured with a marrow transplant, but more than 75 percent rely on the general public for a match.
