Nashville ARCA RE/MAX Series Ratings Solid on SPEED; Near 50% Increase Over 2004 Nashville Spring Race Rating

TOLEDO OH (4-5-05) In the world of television, programming lives and/or dies according to Nielsen ratings.
That said, the ARCA RE/MAX Series is living large. After a solid season-opener at Daytona on SPEED Channel, the versatile tour, in its 53rd consecutive season of competition, followed up with a very impressive .75 Nielsen cable rating in the initial telecast of the March 26th, PFG Lester 150 from Nashville Superspeedway. The two-hour telecast reached well over a half-million households.
Outside of ratings from the Daytona telecasts, which have ranged from 1.2 to 1.7 on SPEED, last Saturday’s race at Nashville registered the second highest rating ever for ARCA RE/MAX Series programming on SPEED.
“We at Speed Channel are delighted that so many people were able to see the event from Nashville last week,” said SPEED Channel Coordinating Producer Pete Richards. “The ARCA RE/MAX series is a very important part of our programming calendar and we’re already looking forward to the rest of the season.”
As per a multi-year agreement, SPEED Channel will televise as many as 14 ARCA RE/MAX Series events in 2005, 13 of which are LIVE.
“We’re certainly proud of our relationship with SPEED Channel and very excited to see, in black and white, significant progress in terms of ratings,” said ARCA President Ron Drager. “We started out very solid at Daytona with a 1.2 overall Nielsen rating and it’s very encouraging to extend that success on to Nashville.”
