CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 16, 2007) — The online registry for the Jeff Gordon Signature Hologram Program launched last week on Gordon’s official website, www.JeffGordon.com.
Gordon announced the creation of the program in 2006 to authenticate his signature by placing sequentially numbered stickers containing the official “G” mark onto licensed items he signs at certain organized events. The program was designed to help protect fans and collectors from purchasing items with a forged Jeff Gordon autograph.
“One of the most valued items to a race fan is the autograph of his or her favorite driver,” said Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet. “It’s important to me that my fans are protected from a counterfeit autograph, which is why we have initiated a hologram system ensuring the authenticity of my signature and the value of the signed item.”
The hologram registry on www.JeffGordon.com was created as a database home for those with items bearing a Jeff Gordon signature and hologram sticker. Fans who own such memorabilia now have the opportunity to register their numbered item for insurance purposes or to buy, sell or trade privately.
