CONCORD, N.C. (May 19, 2009) – The 2010 Daytona 500 pace car is one of four Chevrolets that will be on display May 19-24 during Chevy Week at Hendrick Motorsports.
Starting today, fans can check out the 2010 Camaro LS7 Concept, the 2010 Camaro Black Concept, the 2010 Camaro GMPP Accessories car and the pace car for the 2010 Daytona 500. The cars will be on display in front of Hendrick Motorsports’ museum and Sprint Cup Series team shops, and fans can spend more time sharing in the organization’s 25th anniversary season as the museum will have extended hours.
“May is a neat time with the races at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, and it’s an especially exciting time here,” said Marshall Carlson, general manager of Hendrick Motorsports. “Fans can not only check out what’s going on in our museum and shops, but also get up-close and personal with four unique Chevrolets that will be on display here. And the best part about it is they don’t have to spend a penny to get in the door or walk around campus.”
Two of the cars on display have not even gone into production.
The Camaro LS7 Concept is designed to serve as a daily driver and a race car. The vehicle combines the power of a GM Performance Parts’ LS7 engine and features drag strip-ready rubber on the rear wheels. Painted Victory Red, with matte black accents on the hood and taillamp panel, this Camaro means business when the countdown hits green.
The Camaro Black Concept suggests a stealthy approach to street style. A matte black-finished hood conceals a 300-horsepower engine. Dark 21-inch wheels, ground effects and high-intensity headlights possessing a red “halo ring” color provide characteristics and personality specific to this interpretation of the new Camaro.
