CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Wednesday, Sept. 14, Alan Gustafson, Chad Knaus and Steve Letarte will participate in the annual "NASCAR Performance Live Chase Special" radio show, which will be broadcast in front of a live audience at NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville.

The Hendrick Motorsports trio will be featured along with the other crew chiefs who secured a spot inside the 2011 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Hosted by Larry McReynolds and Steve Post, the one-hour radio broadcast will air nationally on Motor Racing Network (MRN) affiliates across the country from 7 to 8 p.m. ET and SIRIUS/XM NASCAR Radio Channel 90 at 10 p.m. ET. The event is open to fans and admission is free.

Knaus will participate from 7-7:30 p.m., while Gustafson and Letarte will join the program from 7:30-8 p.m.

Wednesday’s program will be a behind-the-scenes look at the technology and teamwork it takes to compete for championships. Audience members, which will include students from NASCAR Technical Institute and fans from the Race City, USA community, will have the opportunity to get the latest insight into each team’s strategy heading into the final 10 weeks of the season, as well as interact via question-and-answer segments with the men behind the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers.

“NASCAR Performance Live is a chance to highlight all of the teamwork that goes into the success of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team,” said Todd Armstrong, managing director, NASCAR Automotive Group. “This year’s broadcast at NASCAR Technical Institute will celebrate the crew chiefs who are responsible for maintaining the machines our great drivers pilot each week, and allow NTI students and fans to get to know and appreciate the ultimate technicians who keep their teams performing at the highest levels on the racetrack.”

NASCAR Performance Live can be heard every Wednesday evening during the NASCAR race season on MRN and SIRIUS/XM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. The program’s talk show format features a rotating line-up of NASCAR crew chiefs offering fans insight on race strategy and the technical aspects of what it takes to put a winning team on the track. Each broadcast features a “Car Care Know How” tip that is relevant to that week’s race and highlights NASCAR Automotive partners.
