The Last Time: Pocono Raceway
By Gray Caldwell
CONCORD, N.C.— Pocono Raceway has been kind to Hendrick Motorsports lately.
In fact, the organization is on a four-race win streak at "The Tricky Triangle."
The most recent trip to Victory Lane belonged to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 88 team. Earlier this season—June 8, 2014—Earnhardt took the lead with five laps to go and held on to collect his first career win at the track.
The 400-mile race saw Jimmie Johnson finish in sixth and Jeff Gordon take the checkered flag in eighth.
Kasey Kahne got as close to the front as second place by lap 97, but contact from a competitor on a late restart caused him to collide with the wall on lap 143. Ultimately he was scored 42nd.
