CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon have offered words of encouragement and advice as North Carolina residents, along with the rest of the country, continue to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.
The duo acknowledged things will be different as everyone navigates this new normal, but a combined effort will help stop the spread of the virus.
"Life is gonna be different for a while, but the temporary changes we make right now can get us to the finish line faster," Gordon said.
Johnson and Gordon are urging people to stay at home, wash their hands regularly and avoid touching their faces.
The message was a combined effort with the office of North Carolina governor Roy Cooper, who released a similar PSA last week with the help of University of North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams, Duke University basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and NC State basketball coach Kevin Keatts.
Johnson and Gordon encouraged people within the state to check in with NCDHHS for more information at ncdhhs.gov/coronavirus.
