CONCORD, N.C. -- Back for a 13th year, Jimmie Johnson has pledged to help with Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope's initiative to aid K-12 public education through nonprofits.

This year, any school-aged children who have been directly impacted by COVID-19 will qualify to participate in the program.

Until June 5 at 3 p.m. ET, individuals 18 and older can nominate a qualifying charity of their choice to receive a $25,000 grant, a Blue Bunny ice cream party and have that charity's name on Johnson's helmet for a 2020 race from the program.

Five organizations will be picked to receive a grant, which will be announced at a later date.

Started in 2008, the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope program has raised more than $1.3 million and has aided 121 charities.
