CONCORD, N.C. -- The Hendrick Motorsports drivers took to their iRacing rigs as they tackled the virtual Chicago Street Course for the first time in the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series.

William Byron led the Hendrick Motorsports drivers, finishing 23rd.

Teammate Alex Bowman surged up to 16th by lap 4 after starting 23rd but his night ended early after his iRacing rig’s throttle became stuck. Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson both used all their resets within the first five laps, ending their night early as well.

James Davison won the race.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Larson rolled off the virtual grid from 14th but got tied up in the first on track incident. He used a reset and set off to hunt down the field.
  • Larson was tied up in another incident, expending his last reset. By lap 2, Larson’s night was over.

CHASE ELLIOTT, NO. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Elliott strapped into his iRacing rig and qualified 36th. He held steady in 36th but used both resets by lap 5, ending is night on that lap.

WILLIAM BYRON, NO. 24 AXALTA CHEVROLET CAMARO ZL1

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Byron strapped into his iRacing rig and started the race fifth after a solid run in qualifying. When the green flag waved, Byron dodged the first on-track incident but was caught in the next one a few turns later. Byron headed to the virtual pits and stayed there for 12 minutes of repairs.
  • After the pit stop was completed, he rejoined the field in 31st on lap 19. Byron fought his way back, moving to 23rd by lap 29, sitting nine laps off the lead. He was disqualified with 10 to go for too much damage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Bowman took to the virtual street course in 34th. He found his rhythm and moved to 23rd by lap 2. His surge continued and he made his way up to 16th by lap 4.
  • His night ended early after his throttle pedal became stuck on his iRacing rig on lap 5, relegating him to a 32nd-place finish.
