CONCORD, N.C. – It was quite the stroll down memory lane Thursday night.
In anticipation of NBC's takeover of NASCAR coverage for the second half of the season, NBC Sports Network aired the July 7, 2001, race at Daytona International Speedway.
The special #NASCARthrowback coverage had drivers and teams recalling special moments and providing fun facts from the 2001 Pepsi 400 on social media. Tweets were pulled into the broadcast live, giving fans the opportunity to join the conversation and share their own memories, especially for the winner -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.
