CONCORD, N.C. – This week we asked Chad Knaus five questions during a lightning round interview. Take a look at what the crew chief of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS had to say, including his favorite Victory Lane moment and what he would do if he wasn’t a crew chief.

1) If you weren’t a crew chief, what do you think your job would be?

“I probably would’ve gotten into something from an engineering standpoint or something along those lines. But quite honestly I love to cook, so I would’ve liked to have maybe pursued that, but I don’t know if that would’ve actually happened. So probably engineering or mechanical engineering of some sort.”

2) What three songs are currently on your playlist?

“I’m more of a Pandora guy. Now in Pandora my stations are anything from Avett Brothers to Metallica, Johnny Cash, Amy Winehouse.”

3) You’ve been in Victory Lane quite a few times. What’s your favorite moment?

“I’d have to say last year in Homestead, winning the championship and winning the race, was a pretty big deal. It was something that --- you know, you’ve got a one in four opportunity to win the championship. Then being able to win the race at the same time was a pretty cool and very unique experience. We’ve been very fortunate to win a lot of very cool races in a lot of cool circumstances. The other good one would be 2004 when we won at Atlanta Motor Speedway after the plane crash. That one kind of hit home pretty hard. Those two are probably the most significant ones.”

4) If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

“I would say dedicated – I feel pretty dedicated to my job, pretty intense and competitive.”

5) What is one track you would add to the circuit where we don't currently race?

“I would really like to go to that road course in Austin, Texas, where they host the Formula One race. I think that would be a neat venue. It looks like a beautiful facility so I would enjoy that.”
