LYNCHBURG, Va. -- William Byron made a special trip to Liberty University -- where he is currently a student -- last weekend to join in on the homecoming festivities.

While there, the 19-year-old met with fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures. He also rode in the annual homecoming parade.

But perhaps the most anticipated part of Byron's visit to the university campus took place during halftime of the Liberty Flames football game.

The driver helped wheel a covered race car out onto the center of the football field. The cover was pulled back to reveal the 2018 No. 24 Liberty University Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that Byron will pilot next year in his rookie NASCAR Cup Series season.
