CONCORD, N.C. – Being in the heat for long hours on race days is a challenging assignment for pit crew athletes, especially with summer quickly approaching.
To help prepare for the tough conditions, all four pit crews participate in a heat training program on the Hendrick Motorsports campus.
The training includes different conditioning drills, workouts and even competitions among the pit crews.
“What this really helps us with is being able to perform in the heat and do our physical tasks in the heat,” No. 9 team jackman T.J. Semke said.
