CONCORD, N.C. – This week, Jimmie Johnson hosted 76 golfers at Quail Hollow Club for a great cause.

The 12th annual Jimmie Johnson Foundation Golf Tournament raised $500,000 to fund grants to K-12 public schools.

“(My wife) Chani and I are so grateful for partners like the Mitchell Family Foundation” Johnson said. “With the help of all of our event sponsors and supporters, we can provide funding for critical needs in K-12 public schools.”

Since the golf tournament’s founding, more than $7.5 million has been raised to benefit the Champions Grant program.

The grants range from $20,000 to $75,000 and are distributed to K-12 public schools in the Johnsons’ hometowns in California and Oklahoma, and where the family currently resides in North Carolina.

“We’re excited to show students and teachers that we support them,” Johnson said.
