LOUDON, N.H. – Jimmie Johnson will lead his Hendrick Motorsports teammates to the green flag Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Johnson will roll off the grid seventh in the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS.

Kasey Kahne, driving the No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet SS, also made the final round of Friday’s qualifying session and set himself up for a ninth-place start.

"That was a decent qualifying session for us," Kahne said. "Hopefully we'll have a couple good practices tomorrow in our Great Clips Chevrolet and get it where it needs to be."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. qualified the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS 19th.

Jeff Gordon, in the No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevrolet SS, will begin Sunday’s race from the 23rd position.

"It's disappointing that we didn't qualify better -- we typically qualify well here and perform well here,” Gordon said. “We'll put this day behind us, go work on it tomorrow and get it ready for Sunday."

Carl Edwards earned the pole position.
