CONCORD, N.C.— This weekend, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will visit Richmond International Raceway for the second time this season.

And fans will be celebrated and honored during the inaugural Fan Appreciation Weekend, Sept. 9 and 10 at the Virginia track.

Last month, Kasey Kahne joined fans at Richmond to help unveil the “Fans Appreciation Restart Zone” on the short track.

“It’s good to be at Richmond for sure,” Kahne said. “I know this restart area is such a huge part of any NASCAR race. To have the fans part of that I think is really cool.”

Drivers, teams, sponsors and NASCAR are joining Richmond International Raceway to recognize the pride and dedication of NASCAR fans during the weekend-long celebration.

“NASCAR fans are at the root of this sport, and Fan Appreciation Weekend is about celebrating their contribution and giving back to them,” said Dennis Bickmeier, president of Richmond International Raceway. “It’s exciting to see the entire NASCAR industry coming together to say thank you to our great fans. It’s going to be a big weekend, and it’s just the beginning.”

Fans will be praised and thanked on social media throughout the broadcast and through special messages from the drivers.

And that’s not all.

Richmond ticket holders will get the royal treatment with special access, experiences and an unprecedented number of driver appearances.
