CONCORD, N.C. -- Only one more racetrack stands between the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers and the Chase Round of 8, and that is Talladega Superspeedway.

At the track where anything can happen and things often take a wild turn, Hendrick Motorsports has claimed a total of 12 wins throughout the years. They have also logged 54 top-five finishes, 78 top-10s, 11 poles and have led 2,662 laps.

Before the gloves and helmets go on however, take a look back at these three past trips to Talladega.

April 25, 2004: Jeff Gordon accumulated a total of six wins at Talladega during his Cup career, tying him for first with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in all-time wins at the Alabama speedway. In the spring race in 2004, Gordon took the green flag from just outside the top 10 in 11th. In a race that saw 23 different drivers lead laps around the 2.66-mile track, Gordon led a total of 15 laps to take the checkered flag for his third Talladega victory.

May 1, 2005: Gordon followed up his 2004 Talladega win with his fourth victory at the track just one year later. This time around, Gordon rolled off the grid second and took the lead 12 separate times. The driver led a race-high 139 laps en route to Victory Lane.

May 1, 2016: Hendrick Motorsports has won the last three consecutive pole awards at Talladega Superspeedway. Gordon started on the pole for both of the 2015 races, and it was 2016 Rookie of the Year contender Chase Elliott who won the most recent Talladega pole for the organization. At a speed of 192.661 mph, Elliott put down the fastest lap of the field with a time of 49.704-seconds to earn his second pole of the year. The 20-year-old ultimately took home a fifth-place finish in the 188-lap race.
