CONCORD, N.C. – After finishing 38th at Pocono Raceway due to a transmission issue, Dale Earnhardt Jr. told the media that the issue was on his part.

But while he was disappointed in the result, he wasn’t ready to give in to the streak of bad luck for the No. 88 team.

This season, Earnhardt has led 10 laps and earned one top-five finish and two top-10s.

He’s looking for much more as his final NASCAR Cup Series season progresses. And the driver and his team aren’t resting – the very same night after the Pocono race, he huddled with No. 88 crew chief Greg Ives as well as teammate Jimmie Johnson.

The next chance to put those ideas to the test and get back on track comes this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.
