BRISTOL, TENN. – Friday evening at Bristol Motor Speedway, Alex Bowman led his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in qualifying with a top-10 finish.
After advancing to final round of the session, the driver of the No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will roll off the grid eighth in Sunday’s race.
William Byron joined his teammate in the final round of qualifying and captured an 11th-place starting position.
Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson both advanced through to the second round, but their Round 2 times were not enough to advance to the final round. They will start Sunday’s race in 16th and 17th, respectively.
Kyle Busch won the pole.
Sunday’s race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on FOX, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
