CONCORD, N.C. – This week, Alex Bowman joined the previous driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet on the latest edition of the “Dale Jr. Download.”

The current driver of the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 sat down with Dale Earnhardt Jr. to talk about a variety of topics including Hendrick Motorsports’ 250th win, his transition to the No. 88 Chevy after Earnhardt and his recent contract extension.

“It gives me a lot of confidence going forward that Nationwide as well as (Hendrick Motorsports owner) Mr. (Rick) Hendrick and everybody in the company have faith in me to be driving the 88 car and be there for the next couple years, so, really excited about that,” Bowman said.

“I think going into this year, there were a lot of things in the back of my mind, and number one is sponsors like Nationwide and Axalta going from Dale Jr. to me,” he continued. “To have them still think it’s worth their while to stick around and be happy with what I’m doing and my brand and how I represent myself and all that means a lot to me.”

The driver noted that the entire company can feel the momentum building on the racetrack, especially after Chase Elliott’s win last weekend at Watkins Glen International.

With every department in the organization working to keep that momentum rolling, he hopes Hendrick Motorsports’ run of success will continue this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.

“Honestly, it’s a lot of hard work from a lot of people,” Bowman said. “We’ve kind of been saying it for a while that we are getting better and our cars are getting better, but over the last couple weeks I feel like we’ve been able to really show that we’re getting better.”
