FORT WORTH, Texas – Friday evening at Texas Motor Speedway, William Byron led his teammates in qualifying with a top-10 performance.
Byron was the only Hendrick Motorsports driver to advance to the final round, earning a ninth-place starting position for Sunday’s race.
Byron’s three teammates all advanced to the second round of the qualifying session. Chase Elliott will roll off the grid 16th, Alex Bowman will start 18th and Jimmie Johnson will take the green flag in 23rd.
Ryan Blaney won the pole.
Sunday’s race is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
