CONCORD, N.C. – Jimmie Johnson will have a different role in racing on Saturday, Feb. 23. The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is scheduled to sit in the booth as a guest driver analyst for FOX Sports.

Johnson will make his debut as a broadcaster with FOX for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway alongside fellow driver Kevin Harvick and play-by-play announcer Adam Alexander. The race is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.

“I’m excited to come in and see the race from a different vantage point,” Johnson said. “I’ve been a big fan of Kevin’s work in the booth and feel like we’re going to have a great time and add a lot of detail to the race, so I’m excited to have that opportunity in Atlanta.”

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Seven-time champion and new No. 24 team crew chief Chad Knaus will also join the broadcast booth on multiple occasions this season.

Knaus will also join Harvick and Alexander as an analyst for the Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 27. It will air at 1 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. UPDATE: Instead of Talladega, Knaus will join the broadcast booth one week earlier at Richmond Raceway for the April 12 race at 7 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.

The crew chief is also set to appear on the “Drivers Only” broadcast later this season at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The broadcast brings popular names in NASCAR to take the job of hosts. Now in its third year, the special event will take place on May 25 at 1 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.

He will be the only crew chief to join the “Drivers Only” group made up of eight returning drivers from last season. He will position himself in the virtual studio while others cover pit road.

In addition, to say “thanks” for their hosting duties, FOX Sports will make donations to the participants’ charities or foundations of their choice for a job well-done.

Be sure to tune in!
