KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Friday evening’s qualifying session saw Chase Elliott lead the way for Hendrick Motorsports at Kansas Speedway.
The driver of the No. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 qualified fifth for Saturday night’s race.
Two teammates joined him in the top 10 — William Byron qualified seventh while Alex Bowman qualified 10th.
Jimmie Johnson qualified for the race 18th.
Kevin Harvick captured the pole.
The starting grid will be made official following pre-race inspection on Saturday.
The race is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on FS1.
