CONCORD, N.C. – This weekend at Martinsville Speedway, Alex Bowman will reach a milestone in his career.

Sunday’s race will be his 150th NASCAR Cup Series start.

“Making my 150th Cup Series start this weekend is pretty special,” the driver said. “I have had a lot of ups and downs in my career, but so thankful that it led me to Hendrick Motorsports.”

More than half of the Tucson, Arizona, native’s starts have come while driving for Hendrick Motorsports, as has his win, two poles, nine top-five finishes, 24 top-10s and 460 of his 463 career laps led.

Among the highlights for the 26-year-old driver since joining the organization are a Daytona 500 pole in 2018 and his first career win at Chicagoland Speedway earlier this season. This May, he became the first driver in Cup Series history to finish second in three consecutive races prior to earning his first win. Then he proceeded to capture that first win at Chicagoland the very next month.

Additionally, in both of the past two seasons, Bowman has qualified for the Cup Series playoffs and advanced to the Round of 12.

“Working alongside my 88 team and all of the amazing people back on the Hendrick Motorsports campus is an honor,” he said.

In honor of the milestone, the No. 88 LLumar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will feature a special decal commemorating the 150th start.

Nine different drivers have captured a win in their 150th start, and Bowman will look to increase that number to 10 this Sunday.

“I am very happy to be making this milestone start with (Hendrick Motorsports owner) Mr. (Rick) Hendrick and his organization,” he said.
