CONCORD, N.C. -- Sunday's race at Talladega Superspeedway has been postponed until Monday due to weather.

Rain had been pouring at the track throughout the afternoon and lightning further delayed the race. Despite efforts to dry the track, the race was called for the day. Since Talladega doesn't have lights, the event cannot occur at night.

NASCAR announced the 13th race of the season will now be Monday, June 22 at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.

The starting lineup will remain the same with Jimmie Johnson starting in fourth, Alex Bowman in eighth and Chase Elliott in 11th. Due to an inspection issue, William Byron will start at the rear.
