The 360 Chassis tour gives you an uninhibited view of some of the chassis components produced in-house for a Hendrick car. Visible in the front section of the car is the front firewall, duct work and Earnhardt bar. The Earnhardt bar is located across the middle of the windshield keeps the roof of the car from collapsing. The bar came about after a crash at Talladega when the roof of Earnhardt’s car caved in after the car slid across the track upside-down. The roll cage of the car, is constructed entirely of steel tubing, can be seen in the center of the car. At the bottom of the center section of the chassis lies the jacking post, where the jack is placed during a pit stop. In the rear section of the car you can see the fuel cell and the rear firewall that separates the driver’s compartment from the fuel cell.
