CONCORD, N.C. — Last week, Charlotte Motor Speedway announced during a media event that Chase Elliott would drive the No. 25 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet SS in tonight’s Sprint Showdown.

In Friday afternoon’s qualifying session, Elliott advanced to the second and final round, setting himself up with an 11th-place starting position for the Showdown with a chance to earn his way into Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.

In order to make tomorrow night’s race, Elliott must win one of the two 20-lap segments in tonight’s Sprint Showdown.

Paul Menard claimed the pole and will lead the group to the green flag tonight. Stay tuned for the Sprint Showdown at 7:15 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
