CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates will don special strips on the visors of their helmets this Sunday at Kansas Speedway to highlight the Jimmie Johnson Foundation.

Along with Chase Elliott, William Byron, Johnson and Alex Bowman, a number of other Cup Series drivers will sport the Team JJF trips on their visors for the first playoff race in the Round of 8.

After Sunday's race, the drivers wearing the strips will sign their helmets and have them placed on the auction block before the final race of the year at Phoenix Raceway. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, which provides funds to K-12 public education.

“The Team JJF visor campaign and the support it gets from the drivers means a lot to (my wife) Chani and me,” Johnson said. “I’m excited to be able to promote the Jimmie Johnson Foundation this weekend, and I’m grateful to Ally for allowing us to run the visor strip. It’s been a challenging year for everyone, but thanks to the generosity of our partners and the NASCAR community, we are able to provide essential financial support to K-12 public schools through fundraisers like this one.”

Aside from Johnson, 27 Cup Series drivers will wear the strips and eight other drivers will donate visors for the auction. The final race of the season at Phoenix will be Johnson's last event as a full-time Cup Series driver.

Tune in to see the Hendrick Motorsports drivers with their special visor strips at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
