CONCORD, N.C. – For the third straight season, the NASCAR Cup Series will begin its year in Los Angeles with the Clash at the Coliseum.

The 2024 edition of the annual exhibition will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 4, on FOX. In each of the last two seasons, a temporary 0.25-mile track has been built inside the historic venue to host this race.

"This is a tremendous win for our fans and our sport," Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Senior Vice President, Racing Development and Strategy, said in a release. "I can’t think of a better way to begin our 2024 season."

In addition to the Cup race, the NASCAR Mexico Series will also compete that day at the LA Coliseum. A full day’s schedule of racing and entertainment will be announced at a later date. The previous two years of action at the Clash have seen heat races and last-chance qualifiers to help set the field for the main event.

In the Clash races at the LA Coliseum, Hendrick Motorsports has three top-five finishes, with Alex Bowman earning the best result of fourth for the team. The organization has won the Clash on seven occasions, with all of those wins coming at Daytona International Speedway. From 1979 to 2020, the 2.5-mile superspeedway hosted the race as part of its annual Speedweeks. In 2021, Daytona’s road course layout was the site of the Clash before the event shifted out to the West Coast.

Bristol Motor Speedway’s spring race weekend is moving back to the concrete layout. The championship weekend will return to Phoenix Raceway for a fifth straight season.
