CONCORD, N.C. -- Jimmie Johnson led the way for all Hendrick Motorsports drivers during the qualifying session for Fontana, California Saturday afternoon, earning the outside pole for Sunday's race.
It's Johnson's fifth front-row start at his hometown track, where he has six victories.
Johnson was followed by Alex Bowman, who will take the green flag on the second row in third.
Chase Elliott and William Byron will line up in 13th and 21st, respectively.
Clint Bowyer will lead all drivers at the start of the race after capturing the pole.
