The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet won 10 races and the All-Star Race in his first season with Hendrick Motorsports. He capped the season off with a victory in the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway to earn the organization's 14th Cup title and his first championship.

"It’s a great honor," Larson said. "I know there has been a lot of NASCAR drivers to win the award, so my fingers are crossed that I can win that. That would definitely be one of the coolest awards. Just being nominated alone is a great honor."

Of the 18 times a NASCAR driver has won the award, a Hendrick Motorsports driver was honored eight times. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have each received the honor four times.

Fans can cast their vote here from now until Sunday, July 17 at 8 p.m. ET
