CONCORD, N.C. –William Byron got the engines fired for the Carolina Hurricanes’ regular-season home finale on Tuesday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Byron sounded the siren that leads the team out to take the ice. The 25-year-old driver is a fan of the NHL team that has already locked up its fifth straight trip to the playoffs.

Like the Hurricanes, Byron is also set to be part of the postseason for a fifth straight year with two wins through the first eight NASCAR Cup Series races of the 2023 season. He has led the second-most laps (385) to teammate Kyle Larson (438), has the most laps run in the top five (1,139) and the most laps run in the top 10 (1,402). The Charlotte, North Carolina, native enters this weekend’s event at Martinsville Speedway as the defending race winner.
