CONCORD, N.C. – Kyle Larson will fill in for Alex Bowman in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway next weekend.
Larson will drive the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports at the .625-mile track in the Saturday, May 20, race (1:30 p.m. ET on FOX, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio-Channel 90).
"I’m excited about the opportunity to run the (NASCAR CRAFTSMAN) Truck (Series) race at North Wilkesboro next weekend with Spire Motorsports," Larson said in a release from Spire. "It’s a shame that Alex (Bowman) won’t be able to compete. We wish him a speedy recovery so he can return to the track soon. Since I’ve never raced at North Wilkesboro, I think it could be beneficial to get some additional laps in at the track. I’m looking forward to double duty All-Star weekend."
Bowman was announced as driving this race in March, but he remains sidelined with a fractured vertebra from an accident in a sprint car event last month.
HendrickCars.com will be the primary sponsor. Mike Greci and Kevin "Bono" Manion will lead the effort for the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado.
Larson is one of 41 drivers to win in all three national series. He has made 14 starts in the Truck Series and has two wins (Rockingham Speedway in 2013 and Eldora Speedway in 2016). The 30-year-old driver’s last truck start came in 2021 on the dirt of Bristol Motor Speedway.

Larson will not be the only Hendrick Motorsports driver to race at North Wilkesboro. Teammate William Byron will also run the Truck Series race at the North Carolina venue as part of a three-race deal with Kyle Busch Motorsports that was announced in March.
