CONCORD, N.C. – Corey LaJoie will fill in for Chase Elliott this weekend at WWT Raceway in the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

NASCAR penalized Elliott following an incident in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600. While racing in the top 10, the driver made contact with Denny Hamlin after Hamlin pushed him into the wall on lap 186. Although Elliott will miss one start, there is no fine or points loss as part of the penalty.

Hendrick Motorsports said in a statement that the penalty will not be appealed and a playoff waiver will be requested for Elliott.

"We are grateful to Corey for stepping in and to the team at Spire Motorsports for making him available," the statement said.

LaJoie has competed in 14 races this season in the No. 7 Chevrolet, securing one top-five finish – a fourth-place result at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He sits 20th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.

Tune in to watch the action at WWT Raceway on Sunday, June 4, at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).
