CONCORD, N.C. – Hendrick Motorsports is no stranger to success on road courses.

All told, the organization has a NASCAR Cup Series-best 27 wins on serpentine layouts. Those wins have come across seven different tracks: Watkins Glen International (11), Sonoma Raceway (seven), the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL (three), Riverside International Raceway (three), Circuit of The Americas (one), the Daytona International Speedway Road Course (one) and Road America (one).

Among the current stable of drivers, Chase Elliott (seven), Kyle Larson (four) and William Byron (one) have all won on road courses. Byron’s victory at Watkins Glen in August 2023 is the most recent road course win for the organization.

On the 2024 Cup Series schedule, there are five road course races. Those events will be at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on March 24, Sonoma on June 9, the Chicago Street Race on July 7, Watkins Glen on Sept. 15 and the Charlotte ROVAL on Oct. 13.

HendrickMotorsports.com sat down with Alex Bowman, William Byron, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson to ask which road course track is their favorite.

EVERY WIN AT HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS FOR: Bowman | Byron | Elliott | Larson

Larson: "I enjoy going to Sonoma (Raceway). It is my home track. I love the Napa Valley. I get to see a lot of friends and family. I feel like it’s one of my better road courses – Watkins Glen (International) is my best (with two wins). I feel like consistently I can be fast there. There are not many corners so that helps me. I look forward to going there this year because they just repaved the whole thing. It is going to be different but home is always fun."

Bowman: "Circuit of The Americas (COTA). It is just such a mix of different types of corners throughout the track. I feel like I run really well there." (Editor’s note: Bowman has two top-five finishes, three top-10s and a 4.33 average finish in three starts.)

Elliott: "Watkins Glen (International) has significant meaning (with the first win in 2018). I had a lot of fun at Chicago last year. I thought that was a cool event, but I would say true road course, probably Watkins Glen or Sonoma (Raceway). Sonoma has grown on me the last couple of years too."

Byron: "Watkins Glen (International) just with the success we’ve had (Byron won there in 2023). I enjoy it because it’s a very traditional track. It’s fast. COTA (Circuit of The Americas) is up there too. It has a good feel and it is a pure track."
