CONCORD, N.C. - Hendrick Motorsports will take to the Midwest when the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway.

The team has won eight times at the 1.5-mile track, which made its Cup Series debut in 2001. Team vice chairman Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race and the second race there as well. Among the current driver lineup, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson earned wins at the Kansas City, Kansas, venue.

Larson will be behind the wheel of the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Over the last six races at Kansas, the 2021 Cup Series champion won the playoff race in the run to his title and he has been one of the best drivers in the series at this track. Over that stretch, Larson has led the most laps (475), is tied for the most top-10 finishes (five) and ranks second in points scored (249), average finish (6.0) and top-five finishes (four). The 31-year-old driver has led at least 70 laps and has eight stage wins in the last six 1.5-mile races.
