CONCORD, N.C. - Hendrick Motorsports will take to the Midwest when the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway. 

The team has won eight times at the 1.5-mile track, which made its Cup Series debut in 2001. Team vice chairman Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race and the second race there as well. Among the current driver lineup, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson earned wins at the Kansas City, Kansas, venue.

Larson will be behind the wheel of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Over the last six races at Kansas, the 2021 Cup Series champion won the playoff race in the run to his title and he has been one of the best drivers in the series at this track. Over that stretch, Larson has led the most laps (475), is tied for the most top-10 finishes (five) and ranks second in points scored (249), average finish (6.0) and top-five finishes (four). The 31-year-old driver has led at least 70 laps and has eight stage wins in the last six 1.5-mile races.

Elliott will showcase the white scheme on the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevy. He has one win at Kansas in the 2018 playoff race and holds the best average finish at the track among drivers in Sunday's field (10.6). In 16 starts at Kansas, the 2020 Cup Series champion has six top-five finishes, 10 top-10s and 249 laps led. Elliott has five races with at least 40 laps led at Kansas and an average finish of 3.8 in those events. He has the third-most points (225) at this track over the last six races. The 28-year-old driver is the most recent winner on a 1.5-mile track at Texas Motor Speedway.

William Byron sees the neon yellow and black RAPTOR paint scheme return to the No. 24 Chevrolet this weekend. The 26-year-old driver leads the Cup Series in wins with three victories and he has the most wins in the Next Gen era with 11. At Kansas, Byron has two top-five finishes and seven top-10s, the latter of which is tied for his most at any track on the circuit. The 2024 DAYTONA 500 champion's best finish at Kansas came last spring when he came home third. Byron has scored the fourth-most points (206) in the previous six races at the 1.5-mile track.

Alex Bowman carries the primary No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Kansas. This venue has been one of the 31-year-old driver's best tracks at Hendrick Motorsports. In 12 starts at Kansas with the Rick Hendrick-owned team, Bowman has three top-five finishes, eight top-10s and 183 laps led. He was the runner-up finisher in the spring 2019 race and has three straight top-10 runs at the 1.5-mile track. Bowman missed last year's spring race at Kansas due to an injury.
