DARLINGTON, S.C. – The fans have spoken and Kyle Larson's No. 5 HendrickCars.com Throwback Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was voted the 2024 Best in Class Throwback Paint Scheme Fan Vote winner in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The honor was revealed before Sunday's race at Darlington Raceway, the site of NASCAR's annual throwback weekend.

The 2021 Cup Series champion's throwback paint scheme is a nod to Terry Labonte's classic Kellogg's paint scheme, in which he drove the No. 5 car to the 1996 Cup Series championship. That was the second title for Hendrick Motorsports in the sport's top series. Labonte was on site and in full race uniform to participate in driver intros with Larson.

For the third straight year, Hendrick Motorsports has had one of its paint schemes win the Best In Show prize. Last year, Chase Elliott's No. 9 LLumar scheme won the vote and was a tribute to his dad and NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott. That car looked very similar to the No. 9 that Bill drove to four wins from 2001 to 2003 when he was with Evernham Motorsports. In 2022, the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts scheme took the honors. That livery was a tribute to the yellow and blue look that Jimmy Means ran in 1993.

A Hendrick Motorsports car also won Best In Show in 2018, when William Byron's tribute to Jeff Gordon's No. 24 rainbow car won the honor.
