NASCAR driver averages: How Larson, Bowman, Elliott and Byron stack up at Atlanta

CONCORD, N.C. - A victory in the DAYTONA 500 is always tough to follow, but it's also a nice problem to have. 

The good news for Hendrick Motorsports? The second week of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule sees the sport head to a track not all that unlike Daytona International Speedway. 

Since its reconfiguration in 2021, Atlanta Motor Speedway has been classified as a drafting track and despite being a mile shorter (1.54 miles instead of 2.5), pack racing has ruled the day. Hendrick Motorsports has visited victory lane three times in that time period, twice with two-time reigning DAYTONA 500 champion William Byron and once with Chase Elliott. 

Elliott has the second-best career average finish at his home track of all active drivers at 11.5 over his 12 starts. That includes eight top-10 finishes. Meanwhile, Kyle Larson's average start of 8.5 is the best among all drivers. And like most places, the organization is the all-time standard bearer in most statistical categories including wins (17), top-five finishes (66), top 10s (105) and laps led (3,666).
