CONCORD, N.C. - With last year's event at Iowa Speedway being the first for the NASCAR Cup Series at the 0.875-mile oval, the sample size isn't exactly large when it comes to averages and statistics.

Still, Hendrick Motorsports flexed its muscle the first time around.

Kyle Larson won the pole for last summer's event. William Byron (second), Chase Elliott (third) and Alex Bowman (eighth) all came home in the top 10.

This week's event looms large as the regular season winds down. Elliott, Byron and Larson are currently first, second and third in points respectively, with four regular season races remaining and the gap between them is just 15 points. Bowman remains in good shape in terms of the playoff bubble, 63 points above the cutline.
