CONCORD, N.C. - After an exciting few days of racing at Daytona International Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports and the NASCAR Cup Series now head to Darlington Raceway.
And there's a lot on the line.

First and foremost, Sunday's race will be the first in the Round of 16 for the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Both Kyle Larson and William Byron enter the race 26 markers above the cutline. Chase Elliott sits seven above the mark while Alex Bowman sits only five behind the line.
But the race also marks a return to the playoffs for the Southern 500. Due to scheduling conflicts caused by the 2024 Olympic Games, last season saw the historic track host the regular season finale instead. But this year, the crown jewel race will once again help decide a champion.
In terms of victories, Larson and Byron have each won at the 1.366-mile track while Elliott and Bowman will look to join that list. A win on Sunday would give Hendrick Motorsports a 17th victory at Darlington.
