CONCORD, N.C. - We've said it before, we'll say it again - when in doubt at Hendrick Motorsports, look for trophies and race cars

For our archivist, Sam Ulrich, that's a slam-dunk mentality when it comes to our weekly NASCAR Artifact of the Week story.

And so, Sam took the layup this week as the Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the opening race in the Round of 12. All told, Hendrick Motorsports has visited victory lane nine times at the 1.058-mile oval.

However, we're starting at the beginning with the first. Jeff Gordon's victory in 1995 came smack dab in the middle of the season and what a special year it turned out to be. Gordon would go on to win his first Cup Series title and hand team owner Rick Hendrick his first in the process.

Despite qualifying 21st, Gordon quickly found his way to the front, leading 126 of 300 laps en route to the win. It marked the fifth of Gordon's seven wins that year. In fact, in each of Gordon's first three championship-winning seasons - 1995, 1997 and 1998 - he also won at New Hampshire.

Oh, those memories.

Now, for your part.

Sam doesn't just pick out goodies 'round these parts. He's also busy at work in the lab, coming up with trivia to stump even the most rabid race fan.

And you can put yourself to the test with a prize hanging in the balance!

This week, we went back and found a diecast of Gordon's from that '95 season and not only that, it doubles as a piggy bank! Hey, times are tight these days, we get it!

All you have to do to have the replica sent straight to your door is be among those to post the highest score on Sam's test. Those submissions will then be entered into a random drawing with one winner emerging.

Remember, entries are limited to one per device and the quiz will close at 11:45 p.m. on Monday. Good luck!
