HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Friday evening at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Alex Bowman led his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in qualifying.

Bowman and two of his teammates – Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson – advanced to the second round of qualifying.

The driver of the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 narrowly missed advancing to the final round of the session, qualifying 13th.

Elliott finished right behind his teammate, earning a 14th-place starting position.

Johnson will take the checkered flag in 19th and William Byron will roll off the grid 28th after not advancing past Round 1 of the session.

Denny Hamlin captured the pole. 

Sunday's race is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
