RICHMOND, Va. – Friday evening’s qualifying session saw Chase Elliott leading the way for Hendrick Motorsports.
The driver of the No. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 qualified seventh for Saturday night’s race.
Jimmie Johnson joined him in the final round of the session, qualifying 10th.
After advancing to the second round, Alex Bowman qualified 17th and William Byron qualified 19th for the Richmond race.
Kevin Harvick captured the pole.
The starting grid will be made official following pre-race inspection on Saturday.
UPDATE: Due to inspection issues, Elliott and Johnson will start Saturday night's race at the rear of the field.
The race is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday on FOX.
