CONCORD, N.C. – Chase Elliott had successful shoulder surgery this week and will be ready for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season that starts in February. 

Hendrick Motorsports confirmed the 27-year-old driver underwent an outpatient procedure Wednesday to correct a torn labrum. The team said the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion had an MRI on Monday after experiencing chronic shoulder pain in recent years.

In a video posted to social media, Elliott called it "an old injury" that needed to be addressed. 

"Everything is all good (and) we’re ready for 2024," he said. 

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season will kick off Feb. 4 with the Clash at the Coliseum exhibition race in Los Angeles, followed by the Feb. 18 DAYTONA 500. See the full schedule by clicking here.
