KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Yet another massive points day for Kyle Larson was enough to move him to the top of the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.
For the third week in a row, Larson scored the most points as he swept the stages and registered the fastest lap en route to a win at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. Coupled with a tough-luck day for teammate William Byron, who'd led the standings since early in the season, it was enough for the Hendrick Motorsports drivers to flip-flop places with Larson now holding a 35-point advantage.
It was also great points race for the other two Hendrick Motorsports wheelmen. Alex Bowman scored nine stage points and came home fifth, moving up to eighth in the standings. Chase Elliott finished second in both stages before ultimately coming home 15th and is currently in fourth.
