INDIANAPOLIS - With hours logged from previous testing and practice sessions, Kyle Larson and the rest of the IndyCar grid entered Saturday's Indianapolis 500 practice session trying fine-tune any last-minute adjustments ahead of the first round of qualifying.
Saturday's practice session is one hour long, split into two separate groups, similar to NASCAR's practice format. It served as the last chance for teams to make changes to improve their cars' performance.
While only 23 of the 34-car field hit the track in the allotted time, Larson and the No. 17 team had to rebound from a crash in Friday's practice. The team was able to repair the car and run a couple laps before qualifying, turning in the 20th-best fastest lap of the session.
Qualifying was slated to start at 11 a.m.
