CONCORD, N.C. - Thanks to a huge points day at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, William Byron is right back where he was just two regular-season events ago.
Byron scored 65 points with three stage wins and a second-place finish in the Coca-Cola 600, reclaiming the lead in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, now 29 markers clear of teammate Kyle Larson.
Hendrick Motorsports claims three of the top four spots according to NASCAR's unofficial standings with Chase Elliott riding a sixth-place showing on Sunday to the fourth spot, 84 markers behind Byron. Alex Bowman rounds out Hendrick Motorsports in 10th.
The NASCAR Cup Series will head to Nashville Superspeedway next Sunday.
